Here’s how you can sign up for your film’s Waitlist for in-person screenings:
- REGISTER
Register on our eWaitlist website (we will provide the link closer to the Festival), using the same username and password as your festival.sundance.org user account (the one you used to purchase tickets).
- ADD A FRIEND
Want to waitlist with a friend? Link your eWaitlist account to your friend’s by going to your account settings (the gear icon in the upper right corner). There you can invite your friend to either create an account and link to yours, or link to theirs instantly if they already have one.
Please note: you can link with any number of friends, but you can only join a waitlist with one friend.
- CHOOSE A FILM AND JOIN THE EWAITLIST
Two hours before the screening time for your film, the eWaitlist will open and you can check in for a waitlist number (if you’re early, a countdown clock will tell you exactly when to check in).
Please note: You can only join the waitlist for one screening per two-hour window.
- GET YOUR EWAITLIST NUMBER
Once you check in, your eWaitlist number will be saved under the “My Waitlist” heading in your account. One waitlist number admits one person. If you eWaitlist with a friend, they’ll have access to their waitlist number in their own “My Waitlist.”
Changed your mind?
Please be kind to the other waitlisters and cancel your eWaitlist number. You’ll then be eligible to waitlist for another film during the same time period.
- JOIN THE LINE AT THE THEATER
You must join the waitlist line no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled screening time (if you arrive late, you’ll be sent to the end of the line regardless of your eWaitlist number). When you get to the theater, present your eWaitlist number on your mobile device to a staff member and queue in your number position. If you can’t use a phone to show your waitlist number, show the theater staff a valid photo ID. They’ll have a full list of eWaitlist registrants and eWaitlist numbers.
- TAKE YOUR CHANCES
Approximately 15 minutes prior to showtime, theater staff will start selling tickets to the waitlist line in queue order until the theater is full.
- PAYING FOR YOUR WAITLIST TICKET
Payment will be accepted if you reach the front of the waitlist line. Waitlist tickets are $20 and only credit cards are accepted. NO CASH.
