Cheers to 15 years of the Sundance Institute’s Summer Film Series!
Wednesday night we launched our 2012 Summer Film Series with Joe Berlinger’s Under African Skies. It was a brisk summer evening at Red Butte Garden, but over 700 people attended. Prior to the screening we had a lively dance and drum performance by Best of Africa.
Among our special guests were members from the state legislature. They joined us for a private dinner on the back patio. It was a big day at the state capitol, as the legislature approved 90 more liquor licenses. Unfortunately, no alcohol was served at our little soirée.
Last night we screened the film at Canyons Resort, which is a new venue for this year and was met with much success. The resort village was alive with more than 350 filmgoers, and it was a beautiful night in the mountains.
Next up is CSNY Déjà Vu on July 11 at Red Butte and July 12 at Canyons. Hope you all can join us!
