The Sundance Film Festival’s newest venue won’t be missing a beat when the curtains are raised on the 2016 edition of the Festival. Festival Base Camp presented by Canada Goose is a dynamic cross-programmatic harbor for music performances, panels, art, and film, and today we’re unveiling the lineup of musicians taking the stage throughout the Festival. A Celebration of Film in Music and BMI Snowball are open to credential holders as space permits; all other events at Festival Base Camp presented by Canada Goose are open to the public. All times below are MST.

Festival Base Camp Kickoff Concert with We Are X Film Event
Composer and X Japan creative force Yoshiki will perform an intimate acoustic set of X Japan songs from the film We Are X, which is debuting in the World Cinema Documentary Competition on Saturday, January 23. It will be followed by a conversation between director Stephen Kijak and two-time Academy Award–winning producer John Battsek. This event also features a performance by Peppina and Motopony.

Fuckkkyouuu Short Film Release Party
Featuring: Flying Lotus DJ Set, Neon Indian DJ Set. Hosted by director Eddie Alcazar.
Director Eddie Alcazar brings this horrific award-winning short film, scored by Flying Lotus, to the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. The celebration is on the cusp of its world release online on Monday, January 25.

Tim O’Keefe, who forms the duo Daddy with James Franco, will perform a live PA mixed in with a DJ set w/ special guest Andy Rourke (The Smiths) especially created for Sundance’s Base Camp presented by Canada Goose. The combined live performance and DJ set will include a selection of original, never heard Daddy songs, all while Andy Rourke joins live on bass. Another exclusive for Sundance’s Base Camp will be the first ever screening of Daddy-directed film Let Me Get What I Want. This film accompanies the full length The Smiths’ inspired debut album Let Me Get What I Want.

IHEARTCOMIX x Antibirth Closing Night Festival Base Camp Event Presented by Canada Goose
Featuring: Ho99o9, MOORS, Danny Perez, Franki Chan, and Visuals by Demonbabies
IHEARTCOMIX and Danny Perez (director of Antibirth) team up for the closing night celebration of Base Camp by Canada Goose. The event merges horror across film and sound, and it features performances by experimental thrash-core group Ho99o9 and hip-hop group Moors, DJ sets from Perez and IHEARTCOMIX owner Franki Chan, and psychotic visuals by Demonbabies (Jesus Rivera).
