Park City, UT — Sundance Institute today announced the addition of four films to the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, including Magic Magic (Director: Sebastián Silva), Muscle Shoals (Director: Greg ‘Freddy’ Camalier) and Wrong Cops (Director: Quentin Dupieux) as well as El Mariachi (1993) for the From the Collection screening. The 2013 Festival will be January 17-27 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah.

The O2, London, 13 December 2012 — Sundance London will once again host a Short Film Competition for the second film and music festival, 25-28 April at The O2. UK-based filmmakers are invited to enter original films between three and five minutes in length, with the winning entry screening at Sundance London and its filmmaker receiving a three-night stay at the Langham Hotel in London as well as additional prizes to be announced.
The Short Film Competition is a partnership with Ravensbourne College of Design and Technology, and with guidance from Sundance London organizers, Robert Redford, Sundance Enterprises, Sundance Institute – which annually hosts the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, U.

Los Angeles, CA & Park City, UT — Sundance Institute and KCRW today announced that the LA public radio station will host three nights (January 18-20) of live musical performances at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival Music Café and broadcast live from the Acura studio space in Park City, Utah January 19-20. This will mark the first-ever formal programming collaboration between the independent film festival and a radio station.
KCRW’s programming for the Festival will feature emerging composers, singer-songwriters and beat-makers and will focus on celebrating the role of music in movies.

Park City, UT — Sundance Institute announced today the films from the 2013 Sundance Film Festival that will screen in 10 independent theaters in cities across the country on January 31 as part of the Sundance Film Festival USA initiative. Audiences in 10 cities will have the opportunity to share in the excitement of discovery of a film fresh from the  2013 Festival as well as hear directly from the filmmaker about their work.
Each of 10 filmmakers will travel to one of the following cities: Ann Arbor, MI; Boston, MA; Brooklyn, NY; Chicago, IL; Houston, TX; Los Angeles, CA; Nashville, TN; Orlando, FL; San Francisco, CA; and Tucson, AZ.

The 2013 Short Film program is comprised of 65 short films selected from a record 8,102 submissions (427 more than for the 2012 Festival).

Jayprofeen: With no star power usually, more modest budgets, and with so many film schools churning out these guys: how important is to wait on a final deliverable for submission rather than making the deadline with a Work in Progress (temp sound, color, etc)?
