Earlier this month we woke up to the great news that several Sundance–supported projects were nominated for 2023 Primetime Emmys. Today, we’re proud to add nine additional titles to the honored list from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences with the announcement of the News & Documentary Emmy Award nominations.
2022 Festival favorite The Janes, a harrowing documentary about the history of an underground network of young women in Chicago providing safe abortions for people in need, leads the Sundance nominees with four nods including Best Documentary. Documentary Film Program and Fund film Wildcat, following animal rescuers in Peru, also grabbed four nominations including Outstanding Nature Documentary. Also in the list of multi-nominated films includes Nothing Compares, a film about late Sinéad O’Connor.
Below check out all the Sundance films nominated for News & Documentary Emmys this year and learn about the programs that they are alumni of. Make sure to cheer them all on in the fall!
