As we continue to dig into the best of what’s next at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, it’s always nice to be reminded of our storied past and the incredible artists that were part of this Festival in years past.
While we are honoring the wealth of 40 years of Festing up in Park City, Utah, this morning we’re also feteing 2023 Sundance Film Festival projects because of their nominations for the 96th Academy Awards.
Past Lives, Celine Song’s powerful drama, nabbed nominations for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay, while the Best Documentary Feature Film category includes two gripping tales from last year’s Festival: 20 Days in Mariupol and The Eternal Memory.
At the top of the 2024 Festival we hosted our Opening Night Gala and honored Song, The Eternal Memory’s Maite Alberdi, along with fellow Oscar nominee and Sundance Alum Christopher Nolan. Check out all their speeches from that night here, and make sure to root for our Sundance family on March 10!
