By Betsy Wallace, Sundance Institute Managing Director
Earlier this year, we saw firsthand the key role technology plays in advancing our mission-critical work of connecting artists with audiences. With the newest addition to the senior leadership team, we’re cementing technological sophistication as a priority
in our ongoing work.
We’re thrilled to welcome Phaedra Marshall to the Sundance Institute family as Chief Product and Technology Officer. Phaedra brings more than 19 years of experience leading technology and digital product teams, developing software, systems
analysis, software implementation, quality assurance, and project management to this key senior leadership role.
Says Phaedra: “The best parts of my career have been bringing creative visions to life. I am very excited about joining Sundance, as their mission so closely aligns with these career highlights. With Sundance, I hope to continue bringing the creative
visions of independent storytellers to life for large audiences.”
As Chief Product and Technology Officer, Phaedra will be responsible for our vision and road map in technological development, operating in collaboration with executive leadership and overseeing strategy, development, maintenance, and operation for all
of the internal systems while supporting the technology needs of our in-person annual Festival and artist labs, along with customer-facing digital products including Sundance Collab, the digital Festival platform, and our digital screening platform.
Phaedra joins us from Critical Mass, where she worked since 2014 across a range of clients, most recently holding the role of Senior Vice President, Technology, managing cross-functional and co-located engineering teams that include developers, architects,
principals, and QA engineers. Before joining Critical Mass, Phaedra worked in higher education, finance, and media for several notable organizations, including Purdue University (North Central Campus), TD Securities, and the Tribune Company.
Phaedra begins her role today. Please join me in welcoming her!
