Last month we were thrilled to see so many Sundance Film Festival projects named as nominees for the 2023 Critics Choice Documentary Awards. From nonfiction films shining a light on beloved public figures to hard-hitting looks at global tragedies, Sundance Institute–supported projects took home nine trophies.
It’s clear that Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie struck a chord with the critics, winning in all five categories it was nominated for. The Deepest Breath and 20 Days in Mariupol also landed multiple wins.
